Family Promise – April 2025
Family Promise is an organization that addresses family homelessness. They identify permanent housing and help families move as quickly as possible toward independence. Each Thursday, Family Promise hosts an Ohana Night. Organizations provide a meal for about 20 people. Some members of the Betsuin BWA figured out an appropriate menu then had lots of fun cooking a meal on Thursday, April 10th. Thank you to Mel Kawahara and Elmer for lighting the pilot light of the stove! The BWA members were Penny Atcheson, Claire Groom, Robyn Hashimoto, Diane Marshall, Dawn Nabeshima, Sandi Sakata, Wendie Yumori, and Dianne Ida. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Email response from Family Promise: The dinner you brought last week was amazing. The families loved it! All of the sides and main dishes were delicious, and there were leftovers for the families to take home. Thank you so much for bringing dinner, we hope to see you again soon.
